Leighton Meester has sued her mother, Constance Meester, for misusing a monthly allowance that Leighton paid to her for the care of her brother Lex, reports TMZ.

Leighton, 25, has been sending Constance $7,500 every month because Lex has severe medical issues and Constance doesn’t work.

In her lawsuit, the Gossip Girl star alleges that Constance misused the allowance for her cosmetic procedures and other personal expenses. Constance also tried to extort money from Leighton, telling her daughter that there was an oral contract between them under which Leighton was required to pay her $10,000 every month for life.

Leighton denies there is any oral contract, but Constance has threatened to sue for $3 million.

In her legal filing, Leighton has asked the court to declare there is no oral contract.

Constance has a criminal record; at the time of Leighton’s birth she was in federal prison for her association with a drug ring that smuggled marijuana from Jamaica to the United States.

Leighton spent the first three months of her life in a halfway house to which Constance was transferred to facilitate nursing. Later, Constance returned to prison to serve her residual sentence and Leighton’s grandmother cared for her.

In the past, Leighton has maintained that her parents are good people who brought her up well.

Jennifer is the granddaughter of the founders of Italian fashion house Missoni, and is fast becoming one of Hollywood’s most promising acting talents.

One of the star’s recent roles was a cameo on hit US teen drama Gossip Girl, and Jennifer was particularly taken with her co-star Leighton Meester who plays Blair Waldorf in the show.

“I really loved working with Leighton Meester,” gushed Jennifer in an interview with the British edition of OK! magazine.

“I was a really big fan of the show and in particular I loved her on it. We had so much fun together. As a person, she is so humble and funny and very sweet.”

Jennifer considers herself a good judge of character. She feels she can assess someone’s personality upon meeting them, and likes people who wear their heart on their sleeve.

“I can see people’s hearts and their auras as well. You can see right away when there’s somebody that’s connected to his or her heart. They are not affected by all the bulls**t we encounter every day,” she added.

Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair) has recently been working with actress Selena Gomez on the set of their new film Monte Carlo, and Leighton couldn’t wait to praise the young actress. “She’s the most amazing role model. She’ll have full-on conversations with her fans – but they’re only six years old. She is just so wonderful with them.”

The 25-year-old actress continued to reveal that she enjoyed working with both Gomez and Katie Cassidy (also from Gossip Girl) on the romcom.

And it turns out the feeling is mutual. Earlier this year, 18-year-old Selena revealed that she was jealous of Leighton’s success, saying, “Leighton does such a good job, and I can’t wait for people to see her in a different light.”

We love to see this side of celebs, but what’s happened to the good old-fashioned catfights?

Are Garrett Hedlund and Kristen Stewart more than co-stars? New reports claim that the two partied all night together June 22 at the afterparty for Chris Weitz‘s film A Better Life. Well, considering the site has the wrong premiere date (it was June 21), let’s consider that offsetting inaccuracies! Celebuzz was there too, and what isn’t being mentioned is that Kristen and Garrett’s On the Road producer was also hanging out with them in a group setting.

As we told you before, Kristen and Garrett are just friends. In fact, we’ve learned exclusively he has been spending lots of time with another brunette starlet – Leighton Meester!

The Country Strong stars have been romantically linked before, but things might be heating up between the two. After both overlapping in London earlier this month (coincidence or conspiracy?), Leighton and Garrett were spotted this weekend hanging out together at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles.

A witness tells Celebuzz the duo grabbed breakfast by the pool, were “cutely affectionate” and looked “enamored” with one another. We don’t want to give all the tidbits away, because it sounds like it was a nice, private moment for the Gossip Girl and her rumored beau, but one thing is for sure — Kristen definitely isn’t the woman in Garrett’s life. Besides, whoever said that she and Robert Pattinson were no longer a secret couple?

VA-VA-VA-VERA: Team Vera Wang rolled into London to mark the opening of her first standalone store in Europe — and for an intimate dinner to celebrate the occasion. The designer has teamed with the London designer retailer Browns to open a 1,800-square-foot store, Vera Wang at Browns, across the street from Claridge’s.

The new shop, at 59 Brook Street, formerly housed Browns Bride and has been fitted with Wang’s latest shop design — charcoal walls and shades of gray, much like the Los Angeles store. “It’s very modern and masculine and a fun juxtaposition with the dresses,” said Mario Grauso, president of Vera Wang.

He described the new store as “a shop-in-shop concept” at Browns, and said it was stocked with bestsellers from past seasons as well as the latest designs, and a made-to-order service.

Until now in the U.K., Wang’s line had been sold exclusively at Selfridges.

“We’ve always loved Vera Wang, and we realized Brook Street was the most natural home for another bridal store — it was an obvious partnership,” said Caroline Burstein, creative director of Browns.

Browns Bride is now located on Hinde Street, not far from Marylebone High Street.

On Thursday night, Burstein hosted a dinner for Wang at Massimo inside the new Corinthia Hotel, with guests including Leighton Meester, Tamara Mellon, Tania Fares, Arthur Becker, and Grauso.

Although it was a working trip for Wang and Grauso, they managed to shoehorn in some shopping: “We’ve done our part to stimulate the British economy,” said Wang, who sang the praises of Dover Street Market. “I could spend two days going through every floor. Just bury me there.”

Wang will have another crack at the store later this month, as she plans to return for Wimbledon.

Grauso, meanwhile, was sporting a new madras jacket from Dries Van Noten at Browns — one of the many purchases he planned to make. “I’m going to have to buy another suitcase,” he said.

We’ve been adoring fans of Jason Sudeikis for a long time—ever since he first appeared in the background of a “What’s Up With That?” sketch on “SNL,” doing what can only be described as The World’s Most Special Dance. But our love for Jason was also imbued with longing and sadness, because we could only ever see him a paltry once a week on NBC. But now that he’ll be hosting the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, Jason is popping up all over the place! All the time! It’s amazing! And as you can see in this promo video, you never know where he might appear next.

That’s leggy Leighton Meester in the dentist’s chair—no doubt prepping her pearly whites for this year’s awards, where she’s nominated for Best Villain. Chic meets geek? Word on the street is that “Gossip Girl” fashionista Leighton Meester and adorable actor Justin Long might be (dare we say it?) a thing. We didn’t see it coming either, but the more we think about it, this could be totally adorable—and besides, since when do PDA lie?

People reports that the pair were spotted holding hands (go ahead, let your inner fourth grader gasp) at La Poubelle in Hollywood where they were dining together. And we’re not talking buddies grabbing a quick bite to eat—according to reports, the meal lasted for two hours and Leighton and Justin hung around the restaurant until after midnight. Long dinner.ight. Sweet-but-subtle PDA. If it looks like a date and acts like a date, right?

The down-to-earth stars kept their (alleged) date fan-friendly, an onlooker reported. “They were happily willing to talk to fans who approached them.”

Their reps were predictably tight-lipped after the encounter, but maybe no news is good news for this could-be couple (we hope so!). They do look pretty cute together, now that we think about it…
