There’s something rather lonely and poignant about Leighton Meester that is nevertheless strong — strong enough to play the jailbait temptation for our favorite Vicodin addict on “House” or the memorable victim of a poison-laced drink on “24.” On The CW’s “Gossip Girl” she once again uses her smoky, dark-eyed stare to advantage to play the jealous, petulant and incredibly vulnerable foil to Blake Lively’s golden girl role. With Meester’s glowing face and new brunette ‘do, she’s ready to play Blair Waldorf — a villainess with a difference, a best friend who won’t always be liked, but has moments of sympathy.

As we mentioned previously, she’s also featured in the new TV Guide (fall tv preview issue), and Nylon Magazine. She was also featured with the “GG” cast in last week’s issue of People Magazine.
